Four hundred and twenty-one climbing permits were issued to fee-paying individuals during the 2024 Everest season, which ended on 29 May. About 600 people, including 200 foreigners, completed the dangerous climb. About 2,000 people gathered at the base camp. Eight died. These people brought 100 tons of garbage.
